In 2018, ALPLA acquired its first base plant in Athens, Greece following the purchase of ARGO S.A. The Greek company, specializing in packaging solutions in the healthcare, personal care, crop protection and chemicals markets, brings to ALPLA over 48 years of experience as a plastic packaging manufacturer.

Building on existing expertise, approximately 240 employees apply the core technologies including injection moulding, injection blow moulding, extrusion blow moulding, co-extrusion blow moulding and tube extrusion and printing. The different production technologies combined with the use of a wide range of polymer grades provides this location with the flexibility to support and serve the highest demands of each market.

In July 2023 ALPLA Greece has completed the demerger by way of hive-down of its non-pharma packaging and its contribution to a new legal entity, ALPLA Packaging Greece. Activities related to the pharma packaging business remain with ALPLA Pharma Greece.
