Overview

ALPLA in Western Africa (Angola)

ALPLA has steadily expanded its presence in Angola, reflecting its long-term commitment to the country’s fast-growing beverage market. After initially serving Angola as an export market, ALPLA established its first in-house production facility in 2018 at Refriango’s site in Viana, near Luanda. This wall-to-wall setup enabled the delivery of high-quality beverage packaging through efficient local manufacturing, in close partnership with its customer and joint-venture partner Refriango.

Scaling production for Angola and the region

Growth accelerated in 2022 when Refriango was appointed the official bottler for The Coca-Cola Company in Angola, creating new opportunities for local investment. In the same year, ALPLA opened an additional production plant in the Viana-Bengo Special Economic Zone.

Strengthening Angola as a Regional Manufacturing Hub

Another milestone followed in March 2024 with the start of operations of ALPLA Sopro, ALPLA’s second in-house facility at Refriango’s Viana site. Today, ALPLA operates three production plants in Angola, employing around 176 people. These operations not only serve the local market but also supply neighboring countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), reinforcing Angola’s role as a regional manufacturing and supply hub.
