Business Ethics and Legal Compliance
ALPLA undertakes to engage in fair and ethical business conduct in accordance with all the legal requirements. As a diverse and multicultural company with a global orientation, we need a common understanding of ethical business practices.
Available in 27 languages, our Code of Conduct serves as a framework for business ethics and compliance with the law; we expect all of our employees to observe the principles set out in the Code of Conduct as well as the legal requirements and other internal regulations.
We also abide by the Base Code of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and perform more than 50 social audits a year to assess our plants on the basis of a representative and risk-based approach.
ALPLA Whistleblowing System
An effective whistleblowing report is crucial to start an investigation and uncover wrongdoing. Here are the essential elements that such a report should contain:
1. Clear description of the incident: Give a detailed report of the observed misconduct or irregularity. Describe what happened, when and where the incident took place, and who was involved or might otherwise have knowledge of it. Be sure to include the plant and country where the incident took place.
2. Evidence and documentation: Include any relevant evidence, e.g. documents, emails or photos that support your claims. The more concrete evidence you give us, the more targeted the investigation can be.
3. Your own contact details: You can submit the report anonymously. However, we recommend that you provide your name and contact details. This will ensure that you and the Compliance department can contact each other quickly. Your name will be treated confidentially!
For anonymous reports, it is particularly important to keep the tracking ID of the case and the password safe. This information is necessary for the reporter to track the status of their report and communicate with the Compliance department. Without this information, it is impossible to follow up on the case or provide additional information.
